FaithActs, the newest committee of our congregation, formed in the summer of 2003, and has as its goal “... to respond to God’s call by inspiring and motivating the members and friends of Redlands United Church of Christ to serve as the Hands of God.  We will use our facility and our collective energies, talents and resources for innovative projects and events that benefit humanity, the environment and all of Creation.”

Currently, FaithActs is involved in coordinating and implementing projects in three major areas: the environment, peace and justice, and local community.  In its first year, FaithActs motivated the congregation to use fair trade coffee for all church functions and to purchase it for personal use, to enjoy fair trade chocolate, to bring their “ugly mug” to church (instead of using unrecyclable styrofoam), and to plant trees in the nearby forests. FaithActs has sponsored educational programs on Just Peace, issues related to the November 2004 election, and worship services for Earth Day and Just Peace Sunday.  In this next year, FaithActs is looking toward working with the local authorities to become more involved in and responsive to specific community needs.
