A Joyful Path

Kid's Zone is geared for children in kindergarten through 5th grade and is held concurrently with the main worship service.  We use A Joyful Path as our main curriculum, breaking from it occasionally for seasonal and/or special activities.  A Joyful Path is a spiritual curriculum for young hearts and minds published by The Center For Progressive Christianity and has become known as "Sunday School lessons for which no apology is necessary."  This is a dynamic program filled with multicultural folktales, Bible stories, affirmations, activities, and nature activities.

Sunday School runs from 9:30 to 10:15 every Sunday morning throughout the school year and is open to children of all ages.  Here we focus on the heroes and stories of our faith.  We are currently using Spark Rotation published by Augsburg Fortress to shape our class time.  We usually spend 4 to 6 weeks learning a story or Bible character through a variety of ways.  Art, games, video, cooking, drama, music, and science are some of the rotational workshops that we use from class to class.
