Redlands United Church of Christ is a congregation that likes to gather for spiritual and physical nourishment! We like to play and pray, workand learn together! To that end, a variety of activities and groups constitute our community life. More information about any of these groups is available by calling the church office, 793-3520.

Shepherd Groups

Every member and friend who wishes is assigned to a shepherd group for support and encouragement along the journey. Shepherd groups meet periodically, and the shepherd leader is available for counseling, prayer, and spiritual friendship. Shepherd groups also serve as the main communication vehicle for the congregation, as Shepherds keep their flock informed of member news, needs, special church events, etc.

Weeders & Wackers

A dedicated group of adults who meet weekly to lovingly care for the extensive and beautiful church gardens. Their work resulted in the church gardens being featured in the 2002 Redlands Garden Tour.

Alpha Bible Study

A self-led group of learners who meet twice a month for study and reflection. Recent studies have focused on The Good Book, The Book of Thomas, and The Bible For Dummies, all by Peter J. Gomes.

Women's Fellowship

A group for women to gather for study and service. Meets monthly in the morning hours in members' homes.

Women’s Book Discussion Group

For all ages, this group of women meets every Friday evening to discuss a book of mutual interest.

Prayer Group

A small group of members who meet to pray for the needs of the community. Meets every Sunday evening in the church office.

Health Ministries

A group led by medically-trained professionals, whose purpose is “to identify congregational health needs and promote wellness and healing.” This group provides information on health issues, conducts a monthly blood pressure screening, and offers support for members and friends in times of health crises.

Retreats

Because this congregation likes to spend time together, periodic opportunities for “R&R” are provided at local retreat centers. Retreats are offered for multi-age groups, youth, confirmation participants, and others as the needs arise. One-day, two-day, and weekend experiences have been enjoyed throughout the years.
